December 2014

English language learning with Live in Languages takes off for JAMCO - See what they have to say here.

November 2014

We are delighted to announce our latest destination: Portland, Oregon. Portland is the largest city in the U.S. state of Oregon, near the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia rivers.  Because of its public transportation networks and efficient land-use planning, Portland has been recognized as one of the most environmentally conscious cities in the world.

Located in the Marine west coast climate region, Portland has a climate marked by both warm, dry summers and wet, cool-to-chilly winter days. This climate is ideal for growing roses. For more than a century, Portland has been known as the "City of Roses", with many rose gardens – most prominently the International Rose Test Garden.

Winter 2014

We are excited to have started working with the Japanese company Jamco, which is one of the world's leading aviation maintenance and internal parts manufacturers. Their association with Boeing has brought them to the Seattle area. They are expanding globally and have a two year Global Management fast track program, which is designed to enable their senior managers to work effectively anywhere in the world.

Live in Languages has teamed up with Jamco to provide their Global Management trainees with four week English language total immersion courses. As well as English language lessons, trainees enhance their cultural understanding so that they will feel competent and confident working around the globe for Jamco in the future.

It is our hope that other companies such as Jamco will follow their lead and use our services to help their employees in global markets.

Fall

We are excited to offer our clients the opportunity to enjoy an English immersion experience on Whidbey Island, Camano Island or one of the San Juan Islands. These islands are off of the West coast of Washington State in the USA, with the San Juan Islands having been voted the number 1 island destination in the USA by Trip Adviser Travelers’ Choice 2013. We have exceptional teachers in these areas and clients get the chance to live like an islander for the length of their stay, enjoying all that these beautiful areas have to offer. Summer

It was a busy summer and we enjoyed having clients from all over the world study with us in London, San Francisco, Hawaii and Seattle.

We are thrilled to have our courses now reaching the next generation of former clients. Next month, we welcome a young man from Italy whose father studied with us back in 1997.

Kazu from Japan studied in San Francisco with us last year and has just finished his second course with us, this time in New York City. He booked his course through a Japanese agent who sells English Language experiences and whom we have worked with since 1995. We appreciate long term relationships with our agents and are always interested in developing others.

Fumio has just booked for a second time with us as well. He opted to study in Seattle last year and is going to be studying in San Francisco this year. It is always a pleasure to welcome prior clients back again!

June, July and August are wonderful months to plan a visit to the locations we have on offer as the weather is often at its most glorious. We hope to see you!

April

We have just said aloha to the oldest client to study English with us so far. At 78 years old, she thoroughly enjoyed a week away from Japan on the glorious island of Oahu, Hawaii.

We have also just said goodbye to the largest group of clients to study with us at one time. A group of six from Japan arrived together and studied for one week in Seattle. They studied in pairs with three different teachers in their respective homes. Not only did they immerse themselves in the English language, but also in the fantastic Seattle sights to include the Space Needle and a tour of the Boeing facility.

February

We have a new website! We hope you enjoy it and find it easy to navigate.

Hiroko left Hawaii after a two week program with us. On departure, she gave the following recommendation regarding her host-teacher:

“I had great time with Alison and Alex. Staying with an American family was a wonderful experience. Not just hearing a lot of words during class but also you can get some information after the lesson. It’s like all day studying!! Sound good!? Can you imagine such a lovely time I have? When I attend a lesson, she tried to explain an American culture, their mind and whatever you want. Then we had meal and talked a variety of topics. One day they took me out on an island tour!! I’m sure that it’s the best way to study your hearing and speaking ability. If you think about short-term overseas study, I especially recommend that you join this program”.

January 2013

We have added a number of new locations over recent years. This year we are pleased to announce that we are now offering courses in Victoria, which is the main city on Vancouver Island, Canada (see our locations page for more details).

Opportunity for former clients to earn extra income:

If you have the time and inclination, we would be very pleased if you could visit our Facebook page and like us, and perhaps post some pictures and comments about your experience with Live in Languages. If someone you know registers for a course with us directly on your recommendation, we will send you a gift of $100 for the referral. In addition, we wonder if you might know anyone in your country (family members/friends etc.), who would be in interested in the opportunity of working with us by recruiting clients for us. There is significant associated extra income for recruiters.
